Public Awareness Alerts

Warning to contractors (and homeowner's) in reference to recent tool thefts.

Please take the time to record serial numbers off of your power tools and keep those records in an area separate from the tools and if possible mark the carrying cases and bodies of the tools with some permanent marker displaying your initials or company name.

Milwaukee Tool Company offers a free service where you can go onto their web site and join their "Heavy Duty Tool Club"

You can then register your tools model and serial numbers and keep track of them in your own account.

If your tools are lost or stolen you can get a print out from there for a police report.

Many tool companies, Milwaukee included, have stopped tracing their serial number once the tools leave their factories so if you don't record your numbers you probably won’t be able to get them otherwise, and if your tools are stolen, without your serial numbers, it is harder for the police to recover them.

Recent car break-ins at shopping centers and parking lots.

A warning to shoppers to lock their vehicles in the parking lots and for homeowner's and students to remove items of value from their vehicles overnight.
